A guide to the State, Royal, military and ceremonial events scheduled for 2016 and forecast for 2017.

The State Opening of Parliament, Trooping the Colour (Queen’s Birthday Parade) and Beating Retreat are some of the annual highlights.

Installation of the Constable of The Tower Of London.
Installation of General Sir Nicholas Houghton GCB CBE ADC Gen, as the 160th Constable of the Tower of London.
The installation of a new Constable takes place within the Tower in a traditional ceremony and involves the Lord Chamberlain, as the monarch's representative, handing the Tower's golden keys to the Constable, as a symbol of his custodianship.

Winter Dress. The Foot Guards change back from their red summer tunics into grey greatcoats, Winter Guard Order, for the autumn and winter months.

State Visit from The President of the Republic of Colombia, His Excellency President Juan Manuel Santos Calderón accompanied by Mrs María Clemencia Rodríguez de Santos. The President and Mrs Santos will stay at Buckingham Palace.

Garter Day Procession Tickets
A limited number of tickets are available for members of the public to watch the procession to St. George's Chapel from inside the precincts of Windsor Castle.

Applicants can request up to four tickets each between 1st January and 1st March.

Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
Performances on Monday to Friday at 21:00 and on Saturday at 19:30 and 22:.30pm. There is no performance on Sunday.
